Very cool place and good food

I've been a few times and it's Always a bit of a ghost town. This most recent visit, We chose to sit at the bar because not one table in the place was occupied and it seemed like they preferred it that way. They had different games playing on the TV but none had volume, on top of which initially, There was no music or anything. Not exactly a welcoming environment. Eventually people started playing music on the jukebox. Thank goodness. The bartender was nice if completely uninterested in interacting with us. Food is decent but we had a bit of a sticker shock.

Old school vibe. Good dark interior.

Pretty good jazz on Sunday nights..the vodka martinis went down like water and the attractice female bartender was amiable!

I haven't been to your restaurant for quite a while but I went earlier this evening and so my friend pilot the bartender and saw the waiter Scott really enjoyed the band in Samba and met the drummer Jim I also play the drums and have shared quite a bit of my music with my friend pilot and gave her a CD tonight it was very nice seeing her again pilot and watching the jazz is sambal group and I will be back some other time to have one of your fish sandwiches your friend Steve Moore or Stephen

Old style tuck & roll leather booths. The food was not great, but was rather pricey. The only reason I give three stars is because our server was outstanding. We had some people in our group who were obnoxious, but she did her job well with a smile on her face.

I celebrated my graduation yesterday in this gorgeous place. happy to tell that we enjoyed a fabulous evening and the venue was definitely the reason for this fruitful gathering. The team collaborated in a graceful manner, the cuisine was very good and my buddies were very happy. We shall definitely visit again for more celebrations. Thank you very much.

I've been going there for 40 years . I remember Barkley, the radio host. I had New York steak with mashed potatoes, no 'baked' at that early hour. Great waitress/bartender with perfect legs. Dark, moody naugahyde with cool Jazz and a dance floor. I expected to see Frank and Dean and Sammy come groovin' in.

This is the modern-day "Regal Beagle." Always a chill vibe. Great food. Bar service is good. Drinks are tasty. And sometimes you can catch a great Burlesque show and live tunes. Good spot.

I ordered garlic fries and got stale gross fries. Great vibe and good music but they need a better cook/chef.

Nice place to run in for lunch. We are from out of state. Good lunch, made to order. Noon on a Friday. Had a great experience. Eyes adjust after 3 minutes. My rating an A.

This place is very dark, but I think that us the intention. The food is fine but I recon that the main draws are the music and bar. Not really a family location, this is better for a date spot. I personally would never go back but the rest of my party was happy so I think that was more a matter of personal taste. The menu is short but if you like the ambiance then give it a try.

This place has a great old school vibe and live jazz most nights. Can't wait to go again.

I have not been to the Barkley maybe since Roger passed. We had to go to the vet next door and thought we'd give it a try.It was good. Good enough that I would go back. It might not be for everyone and I have read some negative reviews but I still like it..

I admire this spot! They offer high class dishes, their menu is decent, The cook in that restaurant is a specialist, I love very much tasting all their food. The food is consistently fresh, the service towards the customers is friendly. I frequently visit this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I recommend it with no hesitation.

Everything was so perfect, before it sold.. the menu was reduced to almost nothing. Had that great small feel to it, but I've come to realize its time has past, unless a drastic full circle turn back occurs, HOPING IT DOES, miss it BTW what happened to music and dancing ?

Good little private place in the heart of South Pasadena love their happy hour on Friday night. Menu is a little pricey but food well worth it. Bartenders are Generous with their serving and also to if you're lucky you get to get some free appetizers if you hang out long enough would recommend for a good happy hour for something casual and intimate are a lunch time I need a drink place

This place is a throwback to those great dinner/bar lounges back in the day. Super friendly staff and great food. Live Jazz and Swing Bands. On the night we dined, the Richard Glaser Quartet played, and WOW, they were jumpin'! Great classic Jazz.

Great place. Nice, intimate, casual. Live jazz music. Mixed drinks and good food. Be there before 9pm, kitchen closes then. We held a party over there. Our waitress was very helpful and tended to all our needs. We felt bad because it was just her, but she did a great job handling us, granted we were a party of 20+ people. I'd like to tell more, but I was buzzed 😜😋🙃🥃🍷🍺

Good food & drinks, friendly service, live music draws standing room only crowds

Maybe I went on an off day, (Wednesday night, Dodger game going) because it was dead. Only a few people, two dining and two at the bar drinking. The ambiance is cozy so maybe on a Saturday night it's packed.

Love the food atmosphere... the beers are too pricey for the location

Bar tender was super cool and knew his biz very well. Location is layed back and the music was good. Small local's hang out spot when you want to get away from the larger fancy watering holes nearby.

Was (emphasize "was") a great place. Now functionally limited due to the new owner. The only reason I gave it one star was to be able to post...Watered down drinks, sub-par food, terrible, eye rolling, rude bartenders and an uncaring owner. Many people have had two or three drinks (think < $10.00 ea.) And received bar tabs in excess of $100.00. It must be front. No legitimate business practices here. Avoid! avoid! avoid!

Bartender was super nice the sparkling wine wasn't bad but beware of the food my husband had the split pea soup and ended up violently ill that night and the next day. Not a bad atmosphere but they definitely need a better chef.

Love the decor and great staff, almost wish the flatscreens and bright blue juke box were gone to better fully accompany the great vintage soundtrack they had on. This place really turns back the clock in the best way.

We had a great time at this spot. We loved the wonderful atmosphere and the food. The staff are super attentive. I am happy we eventually managed to visit here.
